We are happy to invite you at our second stop motion workshop at Badaboom Berlin.
During the meeting you will get a first peek into the world of stop-motion animation: an overview of techniques, software, tools and tips that will get you started into the amazing world of bringing objects to life.
New to stop motion? Have a look at our trailer down here.
The intensive 2-days workshop is meant to give beginners theoretical and technical background to be able to start your adventures in stop-motion animation, avoiding most common and frustrating errors, and most important, saving you a lot of time.
Given its great workflow between digital cameras and computer, we will work with a professional software (Dragonframe), but also will have an overview on free or cheaper alternatives.
To save time on the workshop day, you will be asked to install the demo version of the software on your computer, and if you have it to bring your camera, so that you get to know the workflow with your own equipment. If you don’t have it, you will be given here webcams to work with. There will be 3 fixed stations you can work with in groups of 2.
We will work with a special collective format, in which we will create short, simple loop animations. We will then connect them into a ‘strange machine’, where all these loops will work like the a clock gears, to create surreal connections between the animations. This format will be able to mix different styles and materials of choice, and develop always more complex animations. As a reference have a look at the “Le Macchine di Munari”.
We will be able in the end of the workshop to present to our friends the result (optional)
Cost of the workshop is 170€ for each participant, 140€ (for people under 18). We will have a maximum of 6 participants.
The course will be in English.
